Welcome to my website. I hope you find something here to enjoy, and enquiries and feedback are very welcome.
I’m a photographer-artist, living and working in Bristol.
In photography, I'm drawn to unusual textures, colours, reflections, shadows or shapes in land/seascape and architecture, from beaches, moorlands and graveyards to deserted boatyards and crumbling farm buildings. I also make artist's books, often combining image and text, and more recently including print forms such as linocut and letterpress.
Occasionally I write music and poetry, performing and recording both my own songs and traditional folk, and have produced two EPs.
I'm also constantly lured by Orkney and north-west Scotland for their vast open skies and constantly changing light, cold restless waters, remoteness and deep silences, and these thread through my work. Currently I'm working on a limited edition collection of six small books (photography, poetry, linocuts, letterpress) based on a month's stay in 2015 on North Ronaldsay, a far-flung tiny Orkney island with a lighthouse, a bird observatory, and a falling population.
Prints and cards of my photography, a small range of hand-made books and, in the near future, some music are available for sale. Please see shop page.

Northlight Gallery, Stromness, Orkney, summer 2014
Forsaken explores aspects of abandonment through images, poetry, books and music, with a focus on deserted buildings and shore artefacts found on Orkney. It touches on the constant abandonment/return cycle inherent in nature's rhythms, and our own forsaking in relationships. A hand-produced five-track EP of song and poetry, including a song interpretation of a George Mackay Brown poem, will soon be available digitally to buy on the music page.
